Our young Gunners will return to Premier League 2 action after the winter break to travel to Liverpool on Saturday, January 17.

The match will take place at Liverpool's Academy Ground, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm (UK time).

Due to the postponement of our game against West Bromwich Albion a week ago, it has now been well over two months since Max Porter's under-21s last competed domestically, back when we drew 1-1 away to Southampton in early November. The opener from Charles Sagoe Jr earned us a point in the affair and means we currently sit 17th in the table with 12 points.


The opposition

Like us, the Reds have so far endured a mixed PL2 campaign, with just four wins from their first ten games. Their latest came last time out in a 3-2 victory over Norwich City, which helped climb them into 15th with 13 points, one clear of our under-21s, who have played two games fewer.

Elswhere, the Merseyside outfit bowed out of the Vertu Trophy in November after they finished bottom of Northern Group H, which saw Crewe Alexandra and Chesterfield progress to the next stage.
