Eddie Howe has a number of injury problems he must assess in the final hours before tonight's game. He is expected to welcome back Anthony Elanga and Jacob Murphy from injury, the wingers having been struggling in recent weeks.

However, it is in defence where the issues lie. Count them all - Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles, Emil Krafth, Tino Livramento, Dan Burn injured and missing this evening. It puts a huge strain on the remaining players, including Sven Botman who has not long recovered from injury himself. Same for Kieran Trippier.

City are able to call upon Antoine Semenyo, despite their new £65m signing having played in an earlier round of the competition for Bournemouth. They are without Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol though, while John Stones is also out.
