Liam Rosenior has dismissed the idea that Arsenal have become ‘Set-Piece FC’ ahead of his Chelsea side taking on the Gunners on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
Arsenal are enjoying a fabulous season, sitting six points clear at the top of the Premier League table and three points ahead of their nearest challenger in the Champions League table.
Under Mikel Arteta the Gunners have become very dangerous from set-pieces, with no team scoring more goals in the Premier League from set-plays this season than Arsenal’s 12.
Clearly that is just one part of Arsenal’s offence, having scored 40 goals in their 21 Premier League outings so far this campaign.
It was put to Rosenior that Arsenal have been labelled ‘Set-Piece FC’ by some, but he thinks this is unfair to a team that is ‘good at everything’ under Arteta.
In just his second game in charge of the Blues, Rosenior will take on Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday and is expecting threats from all areas.
