Newcastle United have yet to act on their interest in Allan Elias, and that hesitation has now allowed Napoli to move first.

According to local ESPN, the Italian champions have already submitted an offer worth €30m to Palmeiras for the 21-year-old midfielder.

The development contrasts with the recent narrative around Newcastle. As reported here in previous updates, the Magpies monitored Allan closely, discussed an “immediate” agreement internally, and assessed the financial conditions of a deal.

However, they have not followed up with a formal bid so far. Napoli, by contrast, have now put a concrete proposal on the table.

Allan finished the 2025 season strongly and attracted attention from several clubs. Newcastle United and Zenit both made enquiries in recent weeks, while Palmeiras rejected earlier approaches in the €20m range.

The Brazilian club have also briefed the market on different valuation points during the window, at times suggesting figures up to €45m, depending on timing and structure.

Despite Napoli’s move, Palmeiras’ stance remains cautious. Sources told ESPN that president Leila Pereira and the club’s board currently prefer to keep Allan for the 2026 season.
