Antoine Semenyo could join Liverpool over Man City despite having a medical booked in at the Etihad, according to Jamie Redknapp.

Semenyo, 26, is expected to join Pep Guardiola's side for £65million as part of a release clause in his contract.

The forward has shone for Bournemouth this season, scoring 10 goals in 20 appearances, including a fairytale injury-time winner against Tottenham on Wednesday in what is likely to be his final act for the club. 

Despite widespread reports suggesting Semenyo's move to City is imminent, which included Cherries boss Andoni Iraola saying there were merely 'formalities' to complete, Redknapp was hesitant, and shared a bombshell claim.

'Everyone thinks it’s a foregone conclusion [for Semenyo] but I’m not so sure… I’m hearing Liverpool have come in,' he said on Sky Sports.
