Former Liverpool midfielder, now turned Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Redknapp claims Liverpool have made a late attempt to sign Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo amid ongoing transfer speculation linking him with a move to Manchester City.

Reports this week claim Pep Guardiola's side are on the brink of signing the Bournemouth talisman, who scored another important goal for the Cherries in a dramatic 3-2 win over Spurs.

Semenyo scored late into injury time, with what looks to be his final act in a Bournemouth shirt, with Andoni Iraola confirming the 26-year-old was on the brink of a move away from the Vitality Stadium.

When asked by Sky Sports if that was Semenyo's last goal in a Bournemouth shirt, Iraola said: "It looks like it yes. Obviously, you have to do the medical and formalities but, I'm afraid to say because I don't want to lose him.
