Fabian Hurzeler expects to see more progress from Carlos Baleba at Selhurst Park.

And he is happy with Mats Wieffer in a right-back role which also sees him get forward or join in with midfield.

Baleba was below his best in the 3-0 win over Leeds but Hurzeler felt he took a step forward as he played 90 minutes.

Wieffer joined the club to play the role Baleba now has but Hurzeler has preferred him at right-back.

That is expected to continue at Crystal Palace although Joel Veltman is now an option after injury.

James Milner and Jack Hinshelwood are nearing fitness after injury-enforced absences.

Albion will face a midfield decision around the turn of the year with Baleba due to head to AFCON with Cameroon.

Speaking in his pre-Palace press conference, Hurzeler said: “We keep pushing, we keep trying to support him and help him, and I think he made a good step forward against Leeds, so hopefully he can continue this against Palace."

Hurler likes what Wieffer offers in his version of the right-back role although he accepts it...
