Thierry Small started the bonfire as Preston celebrate making it three wins in a row with a hard-fought win at Deepdale, under the lights.

The win sees them climb to fourth in the league, perhaps signalling to some fans that this could be a very different season for the club.

Swansea City dominated the first half, despite a sparkling start from Preston North End, who took the lead courtesy of Small in the opening eight minutes.

The former Charlton man hit an explosive strike from distance with a spectacular first time left-footed shot that saw the ball rise into the top right corner, as if that was also a rocket being set off on Moor Park opposite the stadium.

After that, it seemed to set the fuse of the Swans who started to establish themselves in the game and dominate the ball, they put the pressure on the Lilywhites, exploiting Liam Lindsay’s lack of speed.

Adam Idah had a golden opportunity, after he whizzed into space left behind from Lindsay, but after a sloppy touch he dragged his effort wide of the left post, making this chance a dampened dud.
