Wolves are still looking for a new manager after parting ways with Vitor Pereira. According to Record, Bruno Lage has emerged as a strong contender to return to Molineux.

Earlier on Wednesday, Jornal de Notícias described him as the “leading candidate” for the Wolves job and said he is “evaluating the possibility” of taking charge again.

The 48-year-old left Benfica in September and has been out of work since. His availability means Wolves could move quickly if they decide to bring him back. There would be no need for negotiation with a club or subsequent compensation.

Reappointing someone who already knows the club’s structure and expectations could be a pragmatic move. Lage understands the club and the atmosphere at Molineux, which may work in his favour.

Whether he accepts the challenge or simply explores the offer remains uncertain, but his name is once again central to Wolves’ plans.

Record take the step of making clear this is their own information. Given the JN claims, there’s clearly a source in Portugal sending this message to the media there.
