Wolves made a move for Abel Ferreira after sacking Vítor Pereira. According to ESPN Brazil, the Premier League club contacted the Palmeiras coach to discuss the vacant position.

Abel quickly turned down the Wolves offer. He remains focused on Palmeiras, who are preparing for the Copa Libertadores final and leading the Brazilian league. The manager is also close to signing a new deal until December 2027. That agreement could even be finalised before the continental final on 29 October.

This was not the first time Abel appeared on a Premier League shortlist. In October, Nottingham Forest also tried to hire him after Nuno Espírito Santo’s departure. Once again, Abel declined to talk.

ESPN described it as “very difficult” for any club, even from Europe’s elite, to convince him to leave Brazil. The report highlighted his high salary, strong project and the stability Palmeiras provide.
