Anthony Gordon has endured a more challenging season and is still searching for consistent Premier League form.

The 24-year-old has struggled with both output and overall play, failing to register a goal or assist in his last 19 Premier League appearances, though he's impressed in the Champions League, with four goals and three assists. While he's expected to feature in Wednesday night's European clash with Athletic Bilbao, the real test lies in translating that output to the domestic stage.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has previously acknowledged that the winger is aware of his Premier League form and understands what's needed to improve.

"He's played very well in the Champions League. He hasn't quite hit that form in the Premier League, and that's his challenge," Howe said. "I've had many discussions with Anthony and will continue to. He's a very honest player and there's no lack of effort or commitment or desire to do well.
