Newcastle United fell to a damaging 3-1 defeat to 18th placed West Ham United on Sunday.

Jacob Murphy opened the scoring in the fourth minute but goals from Lucas Paqueta, Tomas Soucek and a Sven Botman own goal saw the struggling Hammers come from behind to win at the London Stadium.

It left Eddie Howe's side languishing in 13th place in the Premier League table and still searching for their first away league win of the season.

The Magpies had a few injury worries going into the game and they will hope to be as strong as possible as they head into Wednesday's Champions League clash against Athletic Bilbao.
