Tim Sherwood has provided a reason for Tottenham’s widely contrasting results at home and away from their stadium this season.

Spurs boast of the best away record in the Premier League, having won four and drawn one of their five away matches in the competition this season.

However, Tottenham’s results at home read like those of a team battling relegation, with the Lilywhites having won one and lost three of their five games at N17.

The boos were deafening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after their latest defeat against Chelsea, and one can certainly understand the supporters’ discontent as they have not seen the team win at the venue since the opening day of the season.

Tim Sherwood believes that the reason Thomas Frank’s men are so good away from home is that they can defend deep and hit teams on the counter-attack.

He suggested that they struggle in front of their fans, who expect them to boss the game and play on the front foot.
