Leicester City are hopeful to have Jeremy Monga back in the squad to face high-flying Middlesbrough on Tuesday night after his bout of illness.

Teenage sensation Monga was left out of the squad for City’s 2-0 defeat to Blackburn after sitting out of training for much of the week leading up to the game.

But manager Marti Cifuentes said he was feeling better by Saturday, boding well for the 16-year-old to be included in the squad at the King Power Stadium against Boro, even if he’s back-up to Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu.

“Yeah, he was feeling better today so hopefully on Tuesday he is ready,” Cifuentes said after Saturday’s match.

City will also hope that withdrawing Jordan James for the final 15 minutes means he is fine to play on Tuesday too.

Fans booed when Welsh midfielder James was substituted off, but Cifuentes said he had to do so with the 21-year-old struggling with back pain.
