Both sides picked up the pace after the break, but still chances would not come.

MK Dons saw Jonathan Leko's cross almost ricochet goalwards off Ryan Woods, while Luke Hannant thought he had won a penalty for the visitors - only to be booked for diving.

Oldham's Mike Fondop had a strike denied by Craig MacGillivray, in what was the game's first and indeed only shot on target, in the 88th minute.
