Manchester United Women continued their brilliant start to the campaign in the Women’s Super League, winning 3-2 at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts began the game on the front foot and had two consecutive efforts inside six minutes, but none troubled Phallon Tullis-Joyce in the United goal.
United had their first sight of goal in the eighth minute, when Jess Park’s shot from the edge of the box was calmly collected by goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
Elisabeth Terland missed a chance to give United the lead in the 17th minute, firing a right-footed shot wide of the post.
Just after the half-hour mark, Tullis-Joyce had to be alert, denying Jelena Cankovic from scoring for the Seagulls.
United drew the first blood on the stroke of halftime through Terland, whose shot from the centre of the box found the bottom right corner.
Toone nearly doubled United’s advantage before the break, but her effort was saved by Nnadozie.
Two minutes before the hour mark, Park made it 2-0, collecting a brilliant pass from Toone before slotting the ball home.
