Bertrand Traore is beginning to shine behind the scenes according to Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris.

The Burkinabé winger is likely to keep his place as Sunderland take on Everton at the Stadium of Light on Monday evening live in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Head coach Le Bris says he is starting to see the best of the deadline-day signing who has started Sunderland’s last three Premier League games following his last-gasp summer move from Ajax.

Although he is yet to score, Le Bris explained in his pre-match press conference why he will persevere with the 30-year-old in his team.

Le Bris thinks Traoré is nearing his best after a difficult pre-season, and that he has been impressed with his understanding of the way Sunderland want to play.

“I’m really happy with Bertrand,” Le Bris said. “He’s a different character, a different type of player as well.

"He didn’t connect early with us and struggled a bit during the pre-season because he had an injury. He missed probably two weeks.
