Mikel Arteta has given an update on Viktor Gyokeres' injury that forced him off in the win against Burnley.

The Sweden striker had to be withdrawn at half-time by Mikel Arteta despite scoring Arsenal's opening goal in the 2-0 win.

Gyokeres impressed at Turf Moor, enjoying one of his brightest games in a Gunners' shirt to date, but the joy was short lived as a muscle injury ended his game early.

The 27-year-old didn't appear from the tunnel for the second-half and was replaced by Mikel Merino.

Speaking after Arsenal's victory, Arteta spoke about Gyokeres' injury, saying: "In the first half was one of the best he's played with us.

"He felt something muscular so we have to wait to learn the extent of that."

Questioned about Martin Zubimendi, who was withdrawn on 77 minutes and seen shaking his head, the Spanish boss added: "Zubimendi asked to be subbed so we’ll have to wait and see."
