Arsenal romped to victory over Burnley, with Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice getting the goals, but Alan Shearer has aimed his praise towards two different stars from the Gunners.

Viktor Gyokeres impressed against Burnley and ended his goal drought with a first-half header, before Declan Rice wrapped up the three points with a second.

Mikel Arteta’s team have now moved seven points clear at the top of the Premier League and will be sensing this could finally be their year.

Shearer has admitted Arsenal’s use of Riccardo Calfiori and Jurrien Timber against Burnley really impressed him.

Calfiori and Timber are quickly establishing themselves as Arteta’s first-choice full-backs for the Gunners after producing yet more impressive displays.

The Spanish head coach has given the pair the licence to get forward, and it has given the North Londoners a whole new dynamic in attack.
