Liam Delap was shown the red card on his comeback from injury as Chelsea defeated Wolves in the Carabao Cup fourth round. Delap, making his first appearance since August, came on with half an hour of normal time remaining but quickly received two yellow cards. There has been a sending-off in six of Chelsea's last nine matches in all competitions and Delap is now banned for the upcoming game against Tottenham.

Early goals from Andrey Santos and Tyrique George put the Blues ahead by two before Estevao Willian had Chelsea comfortably leading at half-time. However, a second-half resurgence from Wolves, thanks to goals from Tolu Arokodare and David Moller Wolfe, caused some late jitters from a Chelsea standpoint. Despite this, they managed to cling on to secure their spot in the quarter-finals.
