Rangers have a controversial history with John Beaton, and it nearly continued in the 1-0 win against Hibernian.

Beaton was the referee when Rangers were denied a blatant penalty in the Scottish League Cup final defeat to Celtic last season.

Danny Rohl was looking for a second successive Rangers win on 29 October, and his side took the lead in the fifth minute through Danilo.

However, there was an incident towards the end of the first half at Easter Road, which Beaton got terribly wrong.
