Fulham star Kenny Tete has admitted he’s not giving up on the Netherlands, despite not being in the picture right now.

Voetbal Primeur have comments from the Fulham man today. He’s been speaking to them throughout the week about various subjects. One of those brought up was a potential return to the Netherlands squad.

The 30-year-old has 14 appearances for his country after making his debut aged 20 under Danny Blind in 2015. He hasn’t made an appearance for the Netherlands since 2021, though. That was 69 minutes in a 4-2 defeat to Turkey.

He’s not been back since, despite establishing himself as key player for Fulham after joining them in 2020. He does not appear to be in Ronald Koeman’s plans for the time being either.

The Netherlands manager has plenty of options in defence as it is, with Denzel Dumfries the undisputed starter at right-back under him. Indeed, his numerous options in defence have even seen the likes of Micky van de Ven used as a left-back, despite being a centre-back at club level.

The Fulham man is leaving the door open, though, and insists he’s always open to returning.
