Rangers secured their first home win in the Scottish Premiership after defeating Kilmarnock 3-1 on Sunday.

Goals from Derek Cornelius, Danilo, and Youssef Chermiti have lifted the Bears into fifth place despite not winning any of their first five league matches.

Danny Rohl’s first match in charge ended in a 3-0 defeat to Brann, yet the win at Ibrox against Kilmarnock showed clear signs of progress as Rangers look to turn around their disastrous start to the season.

Chermiti finally scored his first goal for the Bears, yet he has still drawn criticism from former Gers manager Barry Ferguson.

With Rangers leading 2-1, the Portuguese striker hit a swerving shot that goalkeeper Eddie Beach failed to deal with to give the Bears some breathing space in the match.

However, Chermiti celebrated by mimicking a talking gesture to hit back at all the fans and pundits who have criticised his performances in recent years.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 27 October, Ferguson was not impressed with Chermiti’s actions at Ibrox.
