Danny Rohl won’t be coming up against Brendan Rodgers afterall this season.

Rangers got their first win under Rohl when they beat Kilmarnock 3-1 at Ibrox on Sunday, with goals from Derek Cornelius, Danilo and Youssef Chermiti sealing the points..

However, a massive bombshell has been dropped very close to Rangers‘ Old Firm clash in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final on Sunday, as Rodgers resigned from Celtic on Monday.

Rohl had been given the perfect blueprint to beat Celtic after Hearts displayed a masterclass in counter-attacking football when they beat the Hoops 3-1 on Sunday, but now it’s all changed.

Martin O’Neill has now taken over as Celtic’s interim boss in time for the clash against Rangers, as the Parkhead icon recently voiced his opinion on Rohl.

It may be fair to say that Rangers took an educated gamble when they appointed Rohl, given his young age of 36 and lack of experience as a head coach.

Despite this, Rohl had glowing reviews as he impressed in stints as a coach with the German national team, as well as Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, which obviously boosted his CV.
