Ally McCoist has rejected the idea that Danny Rohl's Rangers appointment had anything to do with Brendan Rodgers leaving Celtic.

The Scottish champions announced last night that the Northern Irishman had tendered his resignation with the club eight points behind Premiership leaders Hearts after losing to them on Sunday.

Dermot Desmond then released a statement which was scathing of Rodgers and his behaviour over recent months, accusing him of being "divisive and self-serving."

Martin O'Neill has taken over as temporary boss along with Shaun Maloney.

The news has sent showckwaves around the world of Scottish football and Ally McCoist was giving his thoughts on talkSPORT this morning.

And the Rangers legend doesn't think Rohl coming in at Ibrox has anything to do with hit.
