OWNER Dragan Solak has said that his removal from United Group, the company he founded, will not impact his involvement at Saints.

Solak, who assumed majority ownership of Saints when Sport Republic bought the club in January 2022, was removed as chief executive of United Group over the summer.

The Serbian billionaire had hoped to launch a successful unfair dismissal lawsuit against the company he still owns a 36 per cent stake in.

However, the case was deemed inadmissible, as judges found the dispute was not within their jurisdiction, due to United Group’s parent company being registered in Luxembourg.

This has left Solak locked out of the company that made him his fortune, yet he has insisted that it will not hinder his involvement with Saints or Sport Republic.

Speaking via a spokesperson, Solak told The Athletic: “Whilst it is disappointing for me, (the ruling) has no impact on Sport Republic or Southampton.
