Danny Rohl got his Rangers reign up and running with a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The German suffered a heavy defeat in the Europa League in the first game in his new role on Thursday night, but it was a totally different story in his opening Premiership outing.

Derek Cornelius put Rangers ahead in the early stages, before George Stanger levelled for the visitors shortly before half-time.

The hosts’ quality told in the second half, as goals from Danilo and Youssef Chermiti quickly put the result beyond doubt.

Rohl will have been provided with plenty of food for thought by his side’s display, and a clear priority has already emerged for him in the January window.

Jack Butland has had some strong displays for Rangers so far this season, but he has never quite been able to shake the tag of being a somewhat error-prone goalkeeper since his move north of the border.
