Liverpool fell to their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat, this time at the hands of Brentford in west London. Arne Slot's side conceded twice in the first half - goals from Dango Ouattara and Kevin Schade, before Milos Kerkez pulled one back on the brink of half-time.

The visitors struggled to find an equaliser, and captain Virgil van Dijk conceded a penalty after fouling Dango Ouattara on the 18-yard line. Igor Thiago made no mistake from the spot, while Mohamed Salah returned to the scoresheet after three league games.

This wasn't the first time the defending champions conceded first, however. In fact, it marked the sixth consecutive game across all competitions in which they've done so within 30 minutes.
