TRANMERE manager Andy Crosby is hoping his side can gain some momentum after last week's brilliant 4-1 win at Bristol Rovers.

Rovers produced arguably their best performance of the season to land the victory which ended a run of seven matches without a league win.

Crosby's side face Chesterfield at Prenton Park on Saturday looking for a repeat of last season's 4-0 victory but will face a tough task against Paul Cook's Spirerites who currently sit sixth in the League Two table.

Crosby said: "The week after the Barnet game was a long week and we spoke about lots of things.

"We did a lot of work on the training pitch but as always it was down to the players on the pitch who went about their job and did it really well.

"We came away probably a little bit disappointed that we had not scored more goals and we conceded the one at the end.

"But it was a big turnaround and the message this week has been about momentum and trying to build on the back of that performance...
