Alan Brazil doesn’t understand how Rangers fans could sit through 90 minutes of their team’s 3-0 defeat to SK Brann in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Danny Rohl took charge of his first game as Rangers manager in Norway, but could do little to stop the rot that set in well before his arrival.

Rohl was left apologising to Rangers fans at the airport before the German flew back to Scotland, while Kevin Thelwell faced heaps of abuse in Norway.

The Light Blues’ defeat to Brann leaves them bottom of the Europa League table after three games, highlighting just how big a job that Rohl has at turning the tide after Russell Martin’s dismal spell in charge.

Thursday night wasn’t exactly a great advert for Scottish football.

Celtic had to come from behind to beat Sturm Graz at Parkhead in the Europa League, while Aberdeen lost 6-0 away to AEK Athens in the Europa Conference League.

Rangers mustered just one shot on target in their defeat to Brann, as per Sofascore, with Youssef Chermiti missing a big chance to score his first goal for the club early on.
