Julián Araujo is ‘practically finished’ at Bournemouth after finding himself in an ‘alarming situation’ at the club.

That’s according to AS Mexico, who report that ‘no one imagined’ that he would end up in his current situation at the club.

The newspaper explains that Araujo’s move to Bournemouth last summer had been celebrated. Nobody imagined that the decision would end up being a setback in his career.

What was anticipated as a leap in quality, given he was going to the Premier League, has turned into a ‘nightmare’ for the defender.

He was initially in Andoni Iraola’s plans. An injury put an end to that, and things have not been the same for him since. Iraola found a way to replace him and eventually realised that Bournemouth function better without him.

The start of a new season was seen as a second chance but ‘everything went from bad to worse’. He’s yet to play a single minute this season and it’s unlikely he’ll return.

Iraola has even hinted at this, admitting publicly that he’s focusing on other players at this moment in time. That has led to a belief that his time at Bournemouth may be over.
