Maccabi Tel Aviv have confirmed that their fans will not be able to buy tickets for their club’s match against Aston Villa next month.

The Israeli club released a statement on Monday evening announcing their decision to “decline any allocation offered on behalf of away fans” for the Europa League fixture at Villa Park, adding that “the wellbeing and safety of our fans is paramount.”

The decision follows the UK government’s discussions on how to support West Midlands Police and provide additional assistance after Birmingham's Safety Advisory Group (SAG) decided to ban away fans from attending the match.
