Milos Kerkez has taken to social media after his difficult start to his Liverpool career continued against Manchester United. The Reds fell to a fourth successive defeat after Harry Maguire scored a late winner, as the Reds Devils clinched their first win at Anfield since 2016.

Arne Slot’s men created plenty of chances against their bitter rivals, but were once again suspect defensively. They fell behind early on in controversial circumstances to Bryan Mbeumo’s second-minute opener, and while Cody Gakpo equalised in the 78th minute, Maguire’s header six minutes later saw them concede a late winner for the third Premier League game in a row.

Kerkez in particular endured a difficult afternoon, with Matthijs de Ligt admitting that United had deliberately targeted both of Liverpool’s full-backs.
