Florian Wirtz has struggled to make an impact since joining Liverpool during the summer transfer window. The Reds started their summer business with a statement of intent by securing the services of the sought-after German from Bayer Leverkusen in a package worth a then-British record £116m.

But he has so far failed to score or claim an assist in the Premier League and was named on the bench for the recent games against Everton and Chelsea.
