Antoine Semenyo has long been linked with a Liverpool move.

In fact, over the last couple of weeks, rumours about Semenyo becoming a Liverpool player have actually started to gain some traction.

Talks of a transfer first started in the summer transfer window, but after Andoni Iraola sanctioned the sale of Dango Outtara to Brentford, a move for Semenyo was no longer possible.

Indeed, Liverpool already have some fairly impressive wingers among their ranks, such as Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, but none of Arne Slot’s men have lived up to their usual standards thus far.

This has caused questions to be raised with Gabby Agbonlahor sharing who he thinks is the better player between Semenyo and Gakpo.

Statistically, Semenyo has massively outperformed Gakpo this season, with the Cherries’ star man contributing to nine goals across all competitions, while the Dutchman has only chipped in with four.

It’s still early in the campaign, of course, so things can change, but on the face of things, it feels like Gakpo is half the player Luis Diaz was last season.
