Swindon Town have appointed chief executive Anthony Hall and local businessman Ben Gristwood to the board of directors.

The club says the move "reflect the club's ongoing commitment to sound governance, long-term sustainability, and ambitious plans both on and off the pitch".

The new additions to the board come after the club's supporters' trust - which owns 50% of the club's stadium - blocked redevelopment of the County Ground in June.

Some sections of the support are unhappy with the ownership of the club by Australian businessman Clem Morfuni.

The two new directors have passed the English Football League's owners' and directors' test, said the club.

"I have appointed Anthony and Ben as directors to strengthen the board and bring additional expertise to the club," Morfuni said in a statement on the club website., external

"As my workload increases with other business commitments, it is vital that we have strategic leaders in place to support long-term planning and help guide the club on its journey."
