Norwich City’s Danish colony continues to expand, with Mathias Kvistgaarden joining from Brøndby this summer. According to Oscar Schwartau, one of Norwich’s young attackers, he played a small part in convincing his former teammate to make the move to England. 

Speaking to Tipsbladet, Schwartau revealed that Kvistgaarden had asked him about the club before accepting the offer.

“I think I was home that weekend when we saw each other,” he said. “He told me Norwich were interested and asked me what I thought about it. Of course, I could only say good things about the club, and luckily it ended with him joining Norwich. You could say I helped a bit by talking the club up.”

The 19-year-old forward has featured in seven matches this season and already scored once. He says the atmosphere and familiarity at the club have made a big difference. “It was one of the reasons I came here in the first place. To get playing time and feel important again,” he added. “It takes some adjustment, but I feel comfortable now.”
