Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly a contender for the Rangers job, after his former Manchester United teammate Paul Scholes suggested that Ole has spoken to the Rangers board.

Speaking on The Good, The Bad, and The Football podcast, the former Manchester United midfielder hinted:

“I was actually with a lad the other night who told me he was actually going to meet Rangers. I’m not sure if he did, but his name’s not been mentioned.

“I think he told me in confidence, so I’m not going to tell you. I don’t think he was going for it. They contacted him, and he was going to meet him in London the day after.”

Solskjaer has been out of a job since leaving Besiktas in the summer and could be looking to take on the role up in Scotland.

The former striker has also managed Cardiff City and Molde, where he won the Norwegian title.

It would be a rogue choice from the Blues. Solskjaer would likely be an unpopular choice among supporters, with his recent record suggesting that he has been pretty unsuccessful in each role.
