An Arsenal star is considering changing his international allegiance, according to a report.

The defender has been in fine form so far this season following his summer move to the Premier League, costing the Gunners £13million from Valencia in Spain.

And it is Spain who he currently represents. The player in question has featured for his country at Under-15, U-16, U-18, U-19 and U-21 levels, but has not yet been capped by the senior side.

Born in Alicante, the 21-year-old has his sights set on a spot at next year's World Cup, but will need to impress quickly if he is to force his way into the Spanish set-up.

Or, there is another option. According to Spanish publication Diario AS, Colombia are hoping they will be able to convince the player to make the swap to represent the South American side.

The player in question is Cristhian Mosquera, who holds a Colombian passport and has reportedly been guaranteed a place at the World Cup if he does opt to swap.
