Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s A&E was evacuated after a man assaulted two people.

The hospital’s Accident and Emergency department was put on lockdown on Friday evening as emergency services were called around 5.30pm.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the hospital. Two people were treated at the scene.

Officers say enquiries into the assault are ongoing.

Fire crews confirmed the matter was a police incident and they were standing by to assist.

The A&E department reopened around 7.40pm as some emergency services left the scene.

A Police Scotland statement read: “Around 5.30pm on Friday, October 10, 2025, we received a report of a man having assaulted two people at a hospital in Aberdeen. 

“Emergency services attended, and two people were treated at the scene. An area of the hospital was evacuated.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

NHS Grampian have been contacted for comment.
