Burton Albion are looking for new investors after confirming the club made a loss of over £8m last season.

The Nordic Football Group (NFC) took over The Brewers last year but they only just clung on to their League One status, finishing one point clear of the bottom four.

It was announced in May that the leadership group was undergoing changes, with Richard Dorman and Tom Mahon brought in as sporting director and chief operating officer.

A club statement said the loss was the result of decision that "did not align" with a long-term target of building a sustainable future.

The statement continued: "The Nordic Football Group has decided to cover the financial loss through a shareholder loan, which will subsequently be waived.

"This ensures that Burton Albion FC is not burdened with debt and can continue to operate on a financially stable footing.

"Since May 2025, under the guidance of a newly formed board and the appointment of Tom Mahon and Richard Dorman as directors, Burton Albion FC has taken decisive steps to restructure its operations and implement a more sustainable financial model."
