Cole Palmer could be out for longer than first thought after Thomas Tuchel's recent injury update.

Chelsea could be without playmaker Cole Palmer for the Blues' next Premier League game against Nottingham Forest after the international break.

Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph relayed the comments from the Three Lions boss recent England press conference ahead of the current group of international fixtures.

Speaking on the London is Blue podcast, Law said: "Tuchel said, 'I'll be very surprised if Cole plays the next Chelsea game.' He called it a chronic groin injury first of all. 'He has a chronic groin injury and there was never any chance we could pick him'

"A he called it a chronic groin injury and b, in his mind ruled him out of the Nottingham Forest game. He just left at that.

"Chelsea are saying it's an ongoing issue that they're having to manage. Someone jumped on him (Jrrell Hato) and you looked at his reaction, that didn't look good at all.

"The Cole one, without really knowing any detail because the club aren't giving details. Looks and sounds worrying to me. Tuchel's language particularly worrying I thought."
