Sjoeke Nusken has signed a contract extension at Chelsea, keeping her at the club until the summer of 2027.

It ends speculation over her future after she gave an interview to a German news outlet over the summer that hinted she was assessing her options.

She said at the time: “At the moment, I am currently at a good place at Chelsea to win titles. They also want me to extend,” adding: “Last year, things didn’t go quite as well as I had hoped. Let’s see how it goes this year. After that, we’ll see – there are a few doors open where I can go.”

The 24-year-old Germany international joined the Blues from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, making her debut on the opening day of the season in a victory over Tottenham Hotspur. She quickly scored her first career hat-trick during a 4-2 league win over Brighton & Hove Albion in October 2023.

The midfielder made 38 appearances and scored 12 goals in all competitions during that first season as Chelsea won the Women’s Super League title, and then helped them to a domestic treble last season, making 36 appearances and scoring five goals...
