The playoff-bound Chicago Fire FC will close out the home portion of the 2025 regular season with an Eastern Conference match against Toronto FC on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Soldier Field.

The Fire will return to the lakefront having clinched a berth in the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs with a 5-3 victory against Inter Miami CF Tuesday night in South Florida. Five different scorers tallied in Chicago’s Club-record ninth road victory of the season, including Homegrown defender Justin Reynolds’ game-winning goal. The Men in Red will make their 14th appearance in the postseason since their inaugural 1998 season and first since 2017.

Toronto will face Chicago for the second time this season, dropping a 2-1 home match to the Fire back on March 15. In their last match on Sept. 27, the Reds welcomed Miami to BMO Field, where the visitors took a 1-0 lead one minute into first-half stoppage time courtesy of midfielder Tadeo Allende. But midfielder Djordje Mihailović got one back 15 minutes into the second half to even the score in Toronto’s seventh consecutive draw, six of them by the same score of 1-1.
