Arsenal made it two wins from two games in the Champions League, with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Greek champions Olympiacos.

Following their 2-0 win away at Athletic Club, Mikel Arteta's side secured maximum points again, but it was far from as straightforward as it appeared it would be early on, as Olympiacos pushed them all the way.

The Gunners raced out of the traps and should have been ahead inside two minutes when Gabriel Martinelli missed a free header from six yards out. But the hosts, and the Brazilian, weren’t left to rue that miss for very long.

Viktor Gyokeres’ brutal run saw the powerful Swede force his way between two Olympiacos defenders, only to see his shot turned onto the post by goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, but Martinelli was alert as he followed in to score the easiest goal of his career from one yard out.

Arsenal’s early dominance saw TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher remark: “Is it me, or does this feel like how many?”
