Journalist Graeme Bailey has revealed the conversation that Pep Guardiola had with Tottenham target Savinho after the closure of the summer transfer window.

It was widely reported that Savinho was keen on joining Spurs in the summer, but Man City decided that the winger was not for sale.

According to some sources, Tottenham tried until transfer deadline day to strike a deal for Savinho, but the Manchester club refused to budge on their stance.

Over the last few weeks, various outlets have said that Spurs will try again to land Savinho in January, but a move now looks a lot more difficult for the North London club.

We have heard over recent days that Man City are advancing in talks over a new contract for Savinho, who is on course to commit his long-term future to the club.

Tottenham Hotspur fans may hold out some hope until the news of the winger’s contract becomes official, but journalist Graeme Bailey has now claimed that the 21-year-old has already been persuaded that his future lies at the Etihad Stadium.
